William M. Somerfield

William M. Somerfield, 88, of West Frankfort passed away at 8:45 p.m., Thursday, August 2, 2018 in the Mt. Vernon Health Care Center. He was born June 7, 1930 in Witt, Illinois to Ernest and Mary (Matthews) Somerfield. He married Alice F. (Damitz) Somerfield and she preceded him in death on August 29, 2017

Survivors include his son Bill (Mary) Somerfield of Benton; a daughter Ann (Elbert) Weber of Antioch, Il.,; two grandchildren Jeff & Laura and by sister-in-law Shirley Somerfield of West Frankfort.

He was preceded by his parents, wife, Alice and several brothers and sisters.

He served in the United States Navy during th Korean War and worked in the Chicago as a machinist for many years.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2018 in Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home, 4 East Broadway, Witt, Illinois, burial will be with Military Rites in Witt Cemetery, Witt, Illinois.
