William Sloan Obituary

Bill Sloan, 94, of Hillsboro, Ill. passed away at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Ill.

Bill was born June 29, 1924 in Morrisonville, Ill. at the farm home of his parents George and Mary Nolan Sloan. He married Sandy Pasdeck at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville, Ill.

Bill graduated from Morrisonville High School in 1942 and joined th U.S Marine Corps., serving three years in the Pacific Theater of the Solomon Islands and the Philippines Liberation.

After WWII, he was discharged and returned to Morrisonville, later enrolling in David Rankin Trade School in St. Louis, where he learned Heating and Air Conditioniong. After this he returned to Morrisonville  where he worked his trade as a contractor.

After retiring as a contractor, he moved to Seatle, WA  working for Boeing Air Craft. Upon returning to Morrisonville, he and his wife Sandy operated a Cafe and Coffee Shop, The Deli Ranch.

He was precded in death by his parents, sister Mary Cecilia Pino, Bernadine O'Niell, Georgia and Rosemary Sloan and brother Nolan Sloan.

He is survived by his wife Sandy Sloan; stepson David Pasdeck; grandsons; Kola, Elisha, Thaddeus; great grandsons; Archard, Anakin: sisters Rita Mae Sloan, Roseann Sloan, Martha Beeler; brothers: John Sloan and James Sloan.

Bill and Sandy had been married for 35 years but the honeymoon never ended. He died in the arms of his loving wife.

Funeral servces will be held Monday November 5 with visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m.. Services will take place at the St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville, Ill. Burial will be at St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery in Morrisonville, Ill. with military honors.
