Thomas "Tom" David White, 74, of Fillmore passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024, at his residence in Fillmore.
He was born July 12,1949 in Hillsboro to John and Violet (McCoy) White, and they preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Nokomis High School and continued his education at Meramec Community College in St. Louis County. Tom went on to join the Illinois National Guard and later trained at a welding school.
Tom was a welder at Ameren CIPS in Coffeen and was also a farmer, raising livestock. Some of his favorite things were horses and tractors. He was an acolyte at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Nokomis and after it closed, became a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Fillmore. He enjoyed spending time with friends and especially his family. Tom was a member of the Masonic Lodge 456 in Nokomis.
In addition to his parents, John and Violet White, Tom was preceded in death by his aunt and uncle, Robert and Doris (Frame) White.
He is survived by his son, Mark White of Fillmore; daughter, Lisa White of Litchfield; Chris (Nicole) White of Litchfield; daughter, Amy (Chad) Nickels of Brownstown, IL; grandchildren, Madison White, Teegan White, Colby Nickels, Rowan Nickels and Frances Nickels; brother, John (Vicki) White of St. Charles, Mo and sister, Kay (Pete) Koronis of Clayton, MO .
Per Mr. White’s wishes, cremation rights are being accorded and no services are planned at this time. Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home of Nokomis is assisting the family with arrangements.
