Theodore Arden Johnson

Theodore Arden Johnson, 85, of Wildwood, IL, passed away on March 30, 2008 at Manor Care in Libertyville, Illinois.

Funeral Services will be held graveside on May 20, 2023 at 10:00 am at Nokomis Cemetery in Nokomis, Illinois.  Theodore will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Beatrice and son Karl Robert Johnson.

Theodore was born on September 9, 1922 to Theodore and Mildred (Berg) Johnson in Chicago, Illinois. He and Beatrice were married on August 21, 1942. Theodore served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and later became a member of the Carpenters Union Local 13. When Theodore was not building homes and additions or renovating a kitchen or bath he loved to listen to classical music and do crossword puzzles while drinking a cup of coffee with a pastry or two. He had a dream of building a sailboat and almost completed that dream before he fell ill with Parkinson’s. He will be remembered for the love he had for his wife Beatrice and his family, his sense of humor, and his willingness to help anyone who needed a hand.

Theodore is survived by his daughters, Karen (Richard) Herman of La Grange IL, Karolyn (Spencer) Godfrey of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and Kimberly Johnson Garrigan of Oswego, IL; grandchildren, Jeffrey Herman, Brian (Kristi) Herman, Sally Johnson, Kyle Godfrey, Connor Godfrey, Casey Godfrey, Beatrice Garrigan and Elizabeth Garrigan; great-grandchildren, Margaret Herman and Abigail Herman. He was proceeded in death by his parents and brother Robert Johnson.
