Shirley Jean Adams, 87, of Nokomis, passed away on Thursday, June 20, at 2:15 am, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Mt Zion..
Shirley was born on May 30, 1932, to the late Louis and Anita (Striegel) Shelton. She married Cecil O. Adams on December 23, 1949, and he preceded her in death on March 4, 2018. She is survived by her daughter, Sherdel Adams (partner Michl) of Mt. Zion, and a brother, Leroy, Taylorville, grandchildren Dustin (Lauren) Ritter, Thomasboro, Brittany (partner Jared) Henry, Pana, and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Rona Ritter, siblings Louie, Katie Elam, Charlie, Billy, Darlene Christian, Charlotte White, Violet Jacobs, Denny Jacobs, Herbie Jacobs, Vernon Jacobs, and Dorothy Jacobs.
Shirley worked as a CNA for Taylorville Memorial Hospital, and Pana Memorial Hospital, for almost 60 years.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 22, at 11:00 am in Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home, Nokomis, with Pastor Chris Huff officiating. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Fillmore. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
