Sharon (Scott) Waters

Sharon (Scott) Waters, 68 of Witt beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and wife, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Sharon was born on June 5, 1957 to Helen M. (Westrich) Scott and Oscar L. Scott in Missouri. Sharon grew up in Witt and on February 8, 1975 married Richard E. Waters of Nokomis and was later divorced.  She met Curtis M. Hubbart of Virden in 1981 and he proceeded her in death in October 1995.  In 1996 she met Gene Baker of Orlando, Florida and he was her Fiancé for over 30 years.

Sharon was a wonderful cook, cake baker, holiday lover, especially Christmas. She really loved a good deal, especially things on clearance and garage sales. Sharon was a kind hearted woman who became “Mama Sharon” to many as she would never let anyone go hungry or be alone, especially on holidays. She lived for her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is survived by Fiancé, Gene Baker of Irving, IL, Son, Curt (Kara) Waters of Lake St. Louis, Daughter, Melissa (Brandon) Bell of Irving, IL, Son, Chris (Bri) Hubbart of Coffeen, IL, Daughter, Jennifer (Jeremy) Carron of Harvel, IL, Daughter, Danielle Vincent of Hillsboro, IL. Nephew, Robert Scott of Missouri, Niece, Pam Bess of Witt, IL, 15 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and 3 great nieces.

She was proceeded in death by her Mother, Helen Scott, Father Oscar Scott, Brother, Richard “Scottie” Scott, Ex-husband, Richard Waters, Curtis Hubbart, Nephew, Rick Scott, Nephew, Jared E. Bess.

Her services are being handled by Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home and will be held at their Witt location on Monday, July 7, 2025, with visitation starting at 12:00 P.M. and continuing until funeral services begin at 2:00 P.M with a dinner following at Irving Century House.
