Ronald D. Jenkins

Ronald D. Jenkins, 68, of Nokomis, IL, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 5:05 A.M. at the Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro, IL.

He was born on July 4, 1949, in Taylorville, IL, a son of Harley “Ed” and Ruby (Price) Jenkins.

Ronald married the former Margo M. Lenzi on May 15, 1971 in Nokomis, IL, and she survives.

Ron was the Montgomery County Treasurer for several terms.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nokomis, Nokomis American Legion, and Nokomis Masonic Lodge.

Ron and his wife, Margo, were blessed with a wonderful son, Troy D. and daughter-in-law Angela Jenkins of Rochester, IL who in turn blessed them with a granddaughter, Victoria (fiancé Drew); siblings, Jo Edith Cobane of Taylorville, Sue (Curry) May of Jacksonville, Peggy (Wayne) Prose of Taylorville, Steve (Linda) Jenkins of  Springfield, Ralph Jenkins and Karen Robinette of Harrison, AR & many wonderful nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Eddie “Bud” Jenkins, and sister Patsy Morehead.

Private funeral services will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018. Dr. Ryan Follis will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Nokomis. The family suggests memorials to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital or the Montgomery County Cancer Association.
