Rita A. Miller, 81 of Witt passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at her home with her family by her side.
Funeral mass for Rita A. Miller will be held Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis with visitation from 9:30 AM until the time of service. CDC guidelines will be in followed in the church and please wear masks and abide by the 6’ distancing. Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home of Nokomis is in charge of arrangements.
Rita was born December 30, 1938 in Taylorville to Jessa Mae (Craig) and George Earl Kessler. She married Gary L. Eddington on April 20, 1955 and he preceded her in death on October 17, 1978. She married Roger J. Miller on December 3, 1988 and he survives. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic/St. Barbara’s Catholic Churches, the treasurer for the NOW Organization, a member of the American Farm Heritage Museum in Greenville, loved camping and was an avid quilter. Rita was a multi-township assessor (Witt & Fillmore) for over 18 years.
Preceding Rita in death in addition to her parents were a grandson, Blake Polley and brother Jim Kessler. Surviving in addition to her husband, Roger are her children Joe Eddington of Witt, Lora (Cecil) Polley of Owaneco; grandchildren April (Josh) Hadowsky, Amber (Dave) Collier, Abby (Joe) Bugg, Mitchell Eddington, Jace Eddington and Buck (Amanda) Polley; great grandchildren Jaden, Jenna & Joslyn Hadowsky, Aubrie Patkus, Makenna Compagni, Jonah Collier, Alaina & Alivia Bugg, Breanna (Robert) Grant, Valerie Collier, Dylan Collier, Nellea Polley and Nollen Polley.
Memorials are suggested to St. Barbara’s Catholic Cemetery.
