Rhonda S. Redeker, 61, of Nokomis passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Rhonda was born December 18, 1960 in Hillsboro, Illinois to the late Orlena A. (Johnson) and Lester H. Halleman. She graduated from Nokomis High School with class of 1979. She and Don Redeker were married August 10, 1979 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Nokomis and he survives. Rhonda was a farm wife, helping with planting and harvest until she was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia in 2008. She was a warrior, never one to complain or ask why me? Her response was always why not me? She had an infectious laugh that would always bring a smile to your face. Her strong faith, love of family and friends brought her through many difficult times during her illness. Rhonda could meet you as a stranger but when you parted you would feel you had know her your entire life. She really was the best listener ever.
In addition to her husband, Rhonda is survived by her daughter: Feryl (Ryan) York of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her very special granddog, Cooper; siblings: Sandra (Joe) McNeal of Litchfield, Pat (Steve Gerlach) of Waggoner and Larry (Shelley) Halleman of Nokomis.
Visitation for Mrs. Redeker will be Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home, Nokomis. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 27, 2022 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
