Ramona Jean Corbin "Puddin"

Ramona Jean Corbin “Puddin”, age 88, of Springfield, formerly of Nokomis, Illinois, passed away at 6:53 a.m. on February 4, 2026, at her home with her loved ones by her side in Lincoln, Illinois.

Ramona was born on August 11, 1937, in Witt, Illinois, the daughter of William “Bill” Dennison Rufus and Imogene Eileen (Hutchins) Rufus.

She was united in marriage to Harry Corbin in March of 1957 in Witt, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 2006. Ramona was employed with the State of Illinois Department of Public Aid and later devoted her time to her family and faith.

Ramona was a faithful and active member of Springfield Assembly of God. She especially enjoyed teaching Sunday school, sharing her faith, and being involved in church activities. She was known as a phenomenal cook and baker, had a beautiful singing voice, and treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she loved deeply.

She is survived by her children, Dawn Corbin of Lincoln, Illinois; Sally (Steve) Nichols of Mayfield, Kentucky; and Tom (Joetta) Corbin of Washington, Illinois.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Amanda (Michael) Buchanan, Nicole (Bob) Marthinsen, Bruce (Kendyl) Kilby II, Michael (Heather) Nichols, Nicholas Medina and Michael Martin; and her great-grandchildren, Corbin and Madelyn Buchanan; Bob Jr. and Owen Marthinsen; Hunter and Fisher Kilby; and Christopher and Kiersten Nichols.
She is also survived by her sisters, Connie (Harry) Crowder, Amber (Dan) Peyton, Beverly Bierzelle, and Sylvia Rufus; life-long friend, James Kennedy and her dear friend and caretaker, Kathy Knollenberg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry Corbin; her daughter, Teresa (William) King; and her seven other siblings.

She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Services for Ramona will be held Monday, February 23rd, 2026. A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis with the funeral service following.
