Pauline Margaret (Schrempp) Pehanich

Pauline Margaret Pehanich, 98, of Nokomis, IL, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 12:10 A.M. at the Tremont Ridge Assisted Living in Hillsboro, IL.

She was born on February 13, 1920 in Witt Township, a daughter of Henry Jesse and Mary Anna (Singler) Schrempp.

Pauline moved into town in 1959 from a farm south of Nokomis.

She attended the country grade school Sandy Bend south of Fillmore and graduated from Nokomis Township High School in 1938.

Pauline married George Pehanich on February 4, 1967 at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1987.

She was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church and the St. Louis CCW; B & PW Club. She was also a 4-H leader for 16 years and a store clerk for 28 years at Lutz, Sperry & Jay Dee Variety Stores. After her retirement, she was very active in church work caring for altars for a number of years.

Pauline is survived by a sister-in-law Gloria Pehanich nieces and nephews Debra Page & Sharon Schoen, both of Hillsboro, IL , JoAnn Bauman, Gail Jayne, Steven, David, Tom and Pat Lowe, Dianna Lowe, Sally Johnson, Kathy Tolle, Jay, Alex and Tyrone Tamalunas, Beverly Salah, Michael & Mark Pehanich, Bernie Jones, Pat & Jim Pehanich, Susan McCarthy, Anna Marie Svelha, John Robert Pehanich, Bob & Bill Pehanich, Steven Pehanich, Angela Hauser.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Raymond L. and Marvin H. Schrempp

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 28, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis. Father Dan Willenborg will preside. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Nokomis, IL.
