Nicole "Niki" (Sabol) Wieland

Nicole ‘Niki’ Wieland, 52, of Nokomis, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at her boyfriend’s home in Ramsey, IL.

Niki was born January 21, 1971, in Pana, IL, the daughter of John Edward and Tincie Irene (Morey) Sabol.

In 1989, she graduated from Nokomis High School and continued her education at Lakeland College. For the majority of her life, she has been a member of the local community. She worked for International Dairy Queen, as a regional manager, in Ohio, as a teller at a bank, was a stay-at-home mom until her family was raised, and was a bookkeeper at the Bank of Hillsboro.

She was kind and caring, had a big, beautiful heart, and full of compassion. She could also be stubborn as the day is long and was known as ‘sassy smartass’ to friends and family. She loved spending time with her boys, family, and friends. She enjoyed dogs, especially her dog, Lego, reading, riding the UTV and motorcycles, cookouts, fish fries, and was quite the baker.  Being out at Rick’s farm, where she could enjoy nature, the quiet, and tranquility, is where she found her peace and calm and could rest from the stresses of life.

She was also preceded in death by her father.

Niki is survived by her mother, Tincie Sabol of Nokomis; her sons, Zachary Michael Wieland and Jacob Nicholas Wieland, both of Nokomis; her boyfriend, of many years, Rick Kroeger of Ramsey, IL; siblings, Dawn Marie Sabol and John Joseph ‘JJ’ (Erin Noel) Sabol, both of Nokomis; nieces and nephews, Brayden, Carter, Audrey and Alivia Sabol; Rick’s children, Christy (Chris) Boggs and Broc (Amanda Kettelkamp) Kroeger; and Rick’s grandchildren, Stella and Gunnar Boggs.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home, 200 E. State St., 62075.  Niki's family requests that everyone please dress comfy and casual.

Niki will be cremated and there will be no memorial service.
