Ned R Hicks, Jr

Ned R. Hicks, Jr, 75 of Nokomis, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Nokomis Rehab and Healthcare.

Mr. Hicks was born June 14, 1944 in Peoria to Freda (Rhodes) and Ned Hicks, Sr.  Ned graduated from Nokomis High School with the class of 1961 and went on to serve his country with the Army Infantry in Viet Nam.  Ned married Mayme Mathis but they later divorced.  Ned worked for many years and retired as a Corrections Counselor in St. Charles, Illinois.

Mr. Hicks is survived by his son, Ryan (Angelique) Hicks of Columbia, IL and daughter, Heidi (Peter) Graves of Godrey, IL.  Also, grandchildren Carter and Logan Hicks and Julia and Nolan Graves and sister Nelda (Mario) Bernardini of Nokomis.

In addition to his parents, Ned was preceded in death by his sisters Connie Linville and Janet Boone. 

Graveside services will be held at a later date. Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis is serving the family and online condolences can be left at stiehldawson@hotmail.com.  The family suggests memorials to St. Louis Catholic School.
