Mildred (Millie) Clark, 84, of Nokomis, Illinois died on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Hillsboro Area Hospital. She was born June 13, 1937 to Elmer and Bertha Huber. She married Robert W. Clark on May 26, 1962 and he preceded her in death.
She grew up in Witt and graduated from Witt High School, home of the “Speedboys,” in 1955. Millie worked for the Illinois State Library, was a homemaker, Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and a cook for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women. She served on numerous church committees and was dedicated to working every fish fry.
Millie loved with a big heart and always put others before herself. Her greatest joy was her family. Alzheimer’s may have stolen her memory, but not her loving heart and cheerful spirit. If you were lucky enough to receive a “Millie pat” or a cheery wave, you were indeed blessed. She enjoyed spending time on her porch swing and loved taking walks. She was a fabulous cook and baker, known especially for her fried chicken and pies.
Surviving are four daughters, Diane Clark of Chatham, Sandy (Jeff) Niemann of Hillsboro, Karen (Eric) Sanders of Nokomis and Kristie (Todd) DeLuka of Taylorville; six grandchildren, Ashley (Eric) Miller, Morgan (Ray) Lovelace, Shelby Niemann, Sydney (Caleb) Randle, Griffen and McKenna Sanders; two great grandchildren, Anna and Ben Miller; brothers, Alvin Huber of St. Louis, Missouri and Arthur (JoAnn) Huber of Tacoma, Washington; in-laws, Irene Clark and Bernard “Chub” Clark, both of Nokomis; and many nieces and nephews.
