Mervin R Dammerman

Mervin R. Dammerman, 74 of Nokomis passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 6:15 PM at Nokomis Rehab and Healthcare in Nokomis.

Mervin was born April 15, 1945 in Nokomis to Raymond and Mary Ellen (Homann) Dammerman.  Mr. Dammerman graduated with the Class of 1963 at Nokomis High School and continued his education at SIU Carbondale with a Bachelor of Science Degree.   He married Linda L. Vedder on June 30, 1968 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nokomis and she survives. Mervin retired after many years at Freeman-Crown Coal Mine in Virden.

Services for Mr. Dammerman will be held at Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 2:00 PM with visitation from Noon until the time of service.  Burial will be immediately following services at Nokomis Cemetery.

Mervin is survived by children Daniel  R. (Jennifer)  Dammerman of Raleigh, NC and Charley W. (Jennifer) Dammerman of Owaneco, Illinois.  Grandchildren Augustus Dammerman , Ramsey, Fisher and Boyd Dammerman,  brother Kim (Janna) Dammerman of Gillespie and sisters Bonnie (Bill) Landsea of Miami, FL and Loleta Morgan of Pekin, Illinois.

In addition to his parents, Mervin was preceded in death by his grandson Danial Miller and brother Gary Dammerman.
