Melba Mae Wiseman, 97, of Nokomis passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Nokomis Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Nokomis.
Services for Mrs. Wiseman will be held, Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Noon at the United Methodist Church of Nokomis. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the of time of service. Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home of Nokomis is assisting the family.
Melba was born on July 3, 1925 in Greenwood Township to Albert and Anna Mae (Bangert) Schneider. She was a graduate of Nokomis High School attended one year of college. Melba and Kenneth “Kenny” Clark Wiseman were married August 20, 1949 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2021 as did her siblings Charles Schneider, Vivian Hawker, Lois Jostes and Harold Schneider
Mrs. Wiseman is survived by her daughter, Kay (Dennis) Plozizka of Nokomis; sons, Clark, Mark and Kent Wiseman all Nokomis; grandchildren Jennifer (Michael) Weiss, Jillian (Tim) Ulrici, Derek Plozizka, Taylor Wiseman Moran, Tanner (Erin) Wiseman; great grandchildren, Adriyanna Moran, Cameron Moran, Tessa Wiseman, Trevyn Wiseman and Everly Wiseman; sisters, Eleanor (Ed) Ovca of Taylorville and Virginia Wernsing of Raymond.
Mrs. Wiseman was a hairdresser and a homemaker. She and her husband started the Nokomis Ambulance in 1973. She is a member of the United Methodist Church of Nokomis. Melba and her late husband, Kenny, spent many years enjoying their retirement at Reflections on Silver Lake in Florida.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 19, 2023 at noon at the United Methodist Church of Nokomis. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
