Mary A. Schwartz, of Witt, passed away at Nokomis Rehab and Health Care Center on March 25, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 10:45 AM Monday, April 2 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis. Visitation will be from 9-10:30 AM prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will follow in St. Barbara's Catholic Cemetery, Witt, Illinois.
Mary was born on June 15, 1941 to William and Minnie (Hefley) Boehler. She married Louis Schwartz on June 30, 1962. He preceded her in death on August 8, 2016.
She attended St. Louis Catholic Grade School and graduated from Nokomis High School. She retired from Roller Derby Skate Co. in Litchfield. She was a member of St. Louis Church and St. Barbara’s in Witt.
Mary was an avid Cubs and Illini sports fan. She had a kind heart, beautiful smile, and strong faith in God. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, watching nature, reading books, and spending time with her family and friends. Everyone that met her always had something nice to say about her.
Mary is survived by her son, Father Rodney Schwartz of Pana and a daughter, Trisha Chacera (husband Brad) of Witt, and two granddaughters, Lauren and Kacie Chachera of Witt. Sister, Noma Niehaus of Litchfield, brothers, Darrell Boehler of Makanda, and Lawrence (Larry) Boehler of Mulberry Grove. Brothers William Boehler, Jr. and Gerald Boehler preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be donated to the St. Louis Catholic School, Witt Public Library or Envision of Witt.
