Mary Louise (Thorpe) Read

Mary L. Read 91 of Witt passed away Monday October 7, 2019 at 9:30 p.m. in Edwardsville Care Center, Edwardsville, Illinois. 

Mary the daughter of Edward and Olive Flowers Thorpe was born August. 5, 1928 in Decatur, Illinois. She married Carl R. "Bob" Read November 25, 1949 in Decatur, IL. He passed away December 26, 1986. She is survived by her sons Robert & wife Pam Read of Edwardsville, IL. Edward & wife Kerri Read of Sherman, IL. grandson Tim & wife Cecilie Read of Los Angeles, CA, great grandsons William and Henry Read and a brother David & wife Donna Thorpe of Decatur, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, daughter Susan Allred and a brother Edward Thorpe.

Mary had worked as a Registered Nurse at Hillsboro Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held Friday October 11 at 3:00 p.m. in The Witt United Methodist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral and burial will be in Witt Cemetery.
