Mary Ann (Bellaver) Johnson, 90, of Nokomis, died at Taylorville Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
Mary Ann was born in Hillsboro on April 7th, 1935, the daughter of Manse and Rosella (Roseman) Bellaver. The family later moved to Nokomis, where Mary Ann attended school and made many lifelong friends. She graduated from Nokomis High School in 1953 as the Valedictorian of her class. After graduation, she worked for Kenneth Moss, esquire, while she waited for her sweetheart, Eugene, to return from Korea.
Mary Ann married Eugene Johnson on April 23rd, 1955, and together they raised two sons in rural Nokomis. Once her boys were grown, she enjoyed working for State Representative Josephine Oblinger, for Governor James Thompson, and in the Office of Admissions for the Illinois Bar Association. Mary Ann was a devout Christian and a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Nokomis. She was an active participant in the Illinois Federation of Republican Women for many years. She was an avid reader and loved musical theater, but her family was her greatest joy. She especially loved cheering on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in their many sports and activities over the years.

She is survived by her son Kurt (Julie) Johnson of Edwardsville IL, daughter-in-law Sandra Johnson of Nokomis, grandchildren Joshua (Jenny) Johnson, Derek Johnson, Erik (Courtney) Johnson, Johanna (Jess) Biermann, and Jason (Rachel) Johnson, and great-grandchildren James, Jordyn, Josie, Adelaide, Dietrich, Genevieve, Otto, and Henry.
