Marsha Ellen (Handley) Cooper, 71, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away June 10th, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Marsha was born in Dallas, Texas on August 20,1953, the daughter of Ruth Rambo and Clayton Handley. A graduate of Eisenhower High School, until retirement she worked at Ameren Illinois as a customer service specialist and previously had a long career in the banking industry with positions at Soy Capital Bank in Decatur and Merchandise National Bank in Chicago, Illinois.
Marsha spent her free time enjoying many activities, including traveling, shopping, watching baseball and basketball, gameshows and movies, and enjoying her home and family. One of her biggest joys was looking after her beloved dogs Sam, Bullwinkle and Rocky. Marsha was preceded in death by her parents.
Marsha is survived by her husband Steve Cooper of Decatur, Illinois; her step-children Ryan Cooper and Erin Cooper both of Decatur, Illinois; her sisters Elizabeth (Bryan) Otto of Leland, North Carolina, June Connette of Decatur, Illinois and Evelyn (Herb, deceased) Tuttle of LaPlace, Illinois; grandchildren Joseph (Ali) Basil, Lindsay (James) Tuttle ,and Megan (Gavin) Stanzione; nieces Steffanie (Trevor) Longmire, Maggie (Chris) Wood and Emma Tuttle; nephews Clayton (Hannah) Otto, Tucker (Elizabeth) Connette, and Doug Tuttle; cousins and beloved friends.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 18 at 11 am at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Ramsey, Illinois. Flowers or cards may be directed to Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home, 200 E. State Street, Nokomis, IL, 62705.
