Marlyn L. Janssen, 88, of Nokomis passed away at 5:57 am Friday, September 6, 2019 at Nokomis Rehab & Healthcare.
Marlyn was born February 18, 1931, in Nokomis, the son of the late Henry T. and Adelaide Ida (Hamlin) Janssen. He married Ellen Joyce Sphar August 21, 1952 and she survives along with two sons, Bruce of Nokomis and Curtis (wife Ida Nielsen) of Livermore, California.
Marlyn was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in California and Okinawa during the Korean Conflict. He, his wife and son Bruce farmed and at one time raised black angus cattle west of Nokomis on the family farm.
Marlyn was a lifelong member of St. Marks Lutheran Church of Nokomis.
Memolrial services will be held Friday, September 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home, Nokomis. Visiting prior to the service. Burial will follow in Nokomis Cemetery.
