Marilyn Kay Summerlott, age 71, passed away at her residence on January 28, 2026. She was born on January 9, 1955, to Eldin Eugene Rhodes and Mary Ann Porter.
Marilyn married Tom Summerlott on October 23, 2021, and together they shared a life filled with love, family, and friendship.
She is survived by her loving sons, Todd Emery Durbin of Nokomis and Jesse Eugene Tucker of Nokomis. Marilyn was a devoted grandmother to Nicole (Michael) Beaty and Mitchell (Cortney) Durbin, both of Nokomis, and a treasured great-grandmother to Nolan, Riley, and Soni Beaty of Nokomis, as well as Cerenity, Lindsey, Jaylynn, and Amelia Durbin of Nokomis. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Her siblings, Elden “Bub” Rhodes, Dora Hampton, and Margaret “Marge” Rhodes.
Marilyn enjoyed the simple things in life, especially going to yard sales and thrift stores, where she loved finding little treasures. More than anything, she loved being surrounded by her grandchildren, family, and friends, creating memories that will be held close by those who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 6th at Stiehl- Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with a funeral service following.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home of Nokomis will be assisting the family.
