Marilou (Colonius) Huber

Marilou Huber 93 of Witt passed at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Lifes Journey, Taylorville, Il.

Marilou the daughter of Louis and Mary (Carriker) Colonius was born September 14, 1924 in Irving, IL. She has a BS in Home Economics and Science graduating as valedictorian of her high school class and her college class.  She taught school in the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s 70’s and 80’s. She belonged to the Witt Ladies card club and was a Phi Beta Kappa. She was a member of St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in Witt, and St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis.

Marilou married Lawrence W. Huber May 30, 1948 at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in Witt. He passed October 19, 1992. She is survived by children Daniel (Roselyn) Huber of Witt, Karen (Dave) Patkus of Nokomis, Carla (Ben) Limbaugh of Batavia, IL., Laura Durbin of Taylorville, Lorene (Mike) Cambruzzi of Taylorville, Bruce (Julie) Huber of Mt. Zion, Philip (Missy) Huber of Witt, Vernon (Tina) Huber of Taylorville, grandchildren Marc, Todd, Janette, Gina, Sara, Anne, Jon, Evan, Walter, Matt, Letha, Anya, Brett, Heather, Kristin, Eric, Jenelle, Kris, Vincent, Nikolas, Ashley, Brandon, Samantha, Megan, Aaron, Alyssa, Michael, Amanda, Justin, great grandchildren Aubrie, Sierra, Madison, Maddi, Violet, Vanessa, Seth, Calissa, Breanna, Noah, Ava, Emmalena, Jacob, Maddy, Anna, Nathan, Jared, Jeremiah, Isabella (deceased), Alyssa, Matthew, Tanya, Kalab, Hannah, Zoey, Landri, Avianna, Alexander, Amanda, Savanna, Haillie, Owen, Hollie, Dominic, Keira, Addilyn, Emery, Cohen, Madison, Kennadie, & Carter, siblings James Colonius of Taylorville, Martha Atkinson of Bartlesville, OK, Darrell (Sharon) Colonius of Edinburg, Lynda Hutchinson of Jerome,  Phil & Beverly Colonius of Springfield, She was preceded by her great granddaughter Isabella and brother Lamar Colonius and sister Ruth Bowers.

Funeral services are Friday June 1, at 10:30 in St. Louis Catholic Church, Nokomis with burial in St. Barbara’s Catholic Cemetery, Witt.  Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. with rosary at 3:30 in the church
