Kevin H. Kahl, 71, passed away peacefully at home on October 13, 2025, with his loved ones by his side.

He was born on April 19, 1954, in Lincoln, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents.

On April 1, 2002, Kevin married the love of his life, Lucy Kahl, in Shelbyville, Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Lucy; his stepson, Jordan Michael Hill of Witt; his sister, Karen Boone of Butte, Montana; his aunt, Barbara Kahl of Jacksonville; and his nephew, Evan Boone of Tupelo, Mississippi.

Kevin practiced law as an attorney for over 40 years. After retiring from law, he began a second career as a truck driver for McLeod, a job he loved and took great pride in.

He was actively involved in the Nokomis Sportsman Club, ABATE, the NRA, and the Illinois State Bar. He was a proud supporter of gun rights.

Kevin enjoyed fishing, was an avid hunter, and loved spending time outdoors. He also had a deep passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and the freedom of the open road.

As per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.

A celebration of life will be held in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kevin’s honor to the Presbyterian Church in Witt, Illinois.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
