Karen Huston

Karen Huston, 68, of Nokomis, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

She was born on February 19, 1958, in French Camp, Stockton, California, the daughter of Don Sisk and Shirley (Northcraft) Sisk. Karen was a homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family.

Karen is survived by her children, Ericka (Brian) Cress of Fillmore, Illinois, Phillip (Spring) Huston of Nokomis, Illinois, and Ryan Huston of Nokomis, Illinois. She was a proud grandmother to Emily, Addilynn, and Kale Cress; Maxwell, Nicholas, William, Zander, Lilly, and Dominic Huston; and Kadyn and Gage Vedder. She was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Ruby Marshall.

She is further survived by her sisters, Joyce Seddon of Nokomis, Illinois, DeeDee Steck of Taylorville, Illinois, and Brenda McMain of Taylorville, Illinois, and her brother, Brian Sisk of Taylorville, Illinois.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Heather Vedder; her sister, Patricia Eller; and her brother, Donnie Sisk.

Karen had a deep love for crafting, especially card making and scrapbooking. In her early years she loved to decorate cakes and made many for family and friends through the years. She also loved to create and build many wood crafts and even playhouses for her grandkids She found joy in creating meaningful gifts for others, and her thoughtful, creative spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis, Illinois, with Pastor Prumm officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rosemond Grove Cemetery in Rosamond, Illinois.

Memorials may be made to the family to assist with expenses.
