Julia Theresa (Sikora) Lesko

Julia Theresa Lesko, 101, of Nokomis passed away Wednesday August 17, 2022, at 6:29 PM at Nokomis Rehab and Health Care.

Funeral Mass for Mrs. Lesko will be Saturday, August 27, 2022 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis at 11:00 AM with Father Michael Meinhart presiding.  Visitation will be from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the church.  Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home of Nokomis is assisting the family.

Mrs. Lesko was born August 13, 1921, in LaPorte, Indiana to Adam and Frances (Gargula) Sikora.  She and John Lesko were married on November 24, 1945, in Nokomis, Illinois and he preceded her in death.

 She worked at JD Variety and answered phones for Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home.  She and her husband, John loved going places.  She loved family coming over to visit and had embroidered baby quilts for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed watching Monday Night Raw Wrestling and was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan and was so excited to see them win the World Series.

Julia is survived by her daughters Cindy (Mike) Kricensky of West Chicago, Marian Crow of Nokomis, Gail (Steve) West of Coalton and Shari (Wayne) Laramie of Rockford, IL; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. 

In addition to her husband, John, she was preceded in death by her son Greg in 2012 and a brother in infancy.

Memorials are suggested to St. Louis Catholic Church or St. Louis Catholic School.
