Judith Lee (Skeldon) Ernst

Judith Lee Ernst, 82, of Nokomis, passed away peacefully in her sleep with her family at her side on August 16, 2022, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehab in Taylor Springs.

Funeral services for Judy Ernst will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 11:00 am. at St. Louis Catholic Church, Nokomis.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.  Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home of Nokomis is assisting the family.

Mrs. Ernst was born to Lester and Betty (Cavanaugh) Skeldon on June 8, 1940, in Litchfield.  She graduated from Gillespie High School and went on to further her education for 4 additional years.  She and Larry E. Ernst were married July 8, 1967, in Gillespie and he survives.  She was a homemaker and a member of St. Louis Catholic Church.

In addition to her husband, Larry, she is survived by her children Gail (Don) Downs of Hillsboro, Kenny (Bridget) Ernst of Nokomis, Nancy (Geoffrey) Springer of Wesley Chapel, FL. and Trisha Beaty (Frank Menin, fiancé’) of Gilbert, Arizona; grandchildren Dalton (Natasha) Downs, Lauren (Noah) Gallion, Hayden Brownback, Logan Ernst, Nolan Ernst, Dominic Springer, Sophia Springer and Allie Beaty; 4 great grandchildren; siblings Dennis (Debbie) Skeldon, Lynne Striegel, David (Chris ) Skeldon, Loretta (Randy) Troutwine all of Gillespie, Charles (Diane) Skeldon of Benld,  Jack (Debbie) Skeldon of Arizona and sister-in-law Sandy Skeldon of South Carolina.

Mrs. Ernst was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Betty, son Scott Andrew Ernst, siblings Ronnie Skeldon, Beth Skeldon and brother-in-law Gary Striegel.

Memorials are suggested to St. Louis Catholic Church or St. Louis Catholic School.
