Lee VandenBergh (John Lee) passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 11:11 pm in St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL. Lee the son of Joseph and Eva (Johnson) VandenBergh was born March 6, 1935 in Pana, Illinois. He married Mary Kathryn "Mimi" Conterio October 26, 1963 in St. Louis Catholic Church, Nokomis. She survives as do children Vincent (Lori) VandenBergh of Witt, Ann (Ken) Barnett of Charleston, SC, Tom (Sue) VandenBergh of Witt, John (Eleni) VandenBergh of Athens Greece, Catherine Dailey of Nokomis, Elizabeth (Tony) Taylor of Taylorville,19 grandchildren, siblings Marie (Paul) Sarsany of Witt, Linda (Rob) Graham of Dallas,Texas, Mike (Cindy) VandenBergh of Nokomis. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Joanne Gelbach.
Lee was a high school graduate, member of the Holy Name Society, a farmer and employed by First National Bank of Nokomis for many years.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church, Nokomis at 11:00 am. Tuesday with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Oconee. Memorials are suggested to St. Louis Catholic School. Nokomis.
The family is being served by Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home, Nokomis.
