John Jeffery DeWereff

John Jeffery DeWerff 75, of Nokomis passed Thursday April 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in his residence surrounded by his family.

Jeff the son of Louis G. DeWerff and Josephine Donaldson DeWerff was born January 30, 1943 in Hillsboro, Illinois.  He married Penny C. Westenberger October 7, 1967 in St. Louis Catholic Church, Nokomis. She survives as do daughters Dr. Michele (Sam) Wood of O’fallon, Missouri and Stephanie Flowers ( fiance’ James Kropid) of Springfield, Illinois, grandchildren Adrienne(Christopher) Brady, Aaron Lipe, Jack Wood, Isabella Wood, great grandchild Caiden Brady, siblings James (Betty) DeWerff, Nokomis, Mary Lou (Jim) Bertolino, and Karel(Chuck) O’Malley both of Witt, Debbie Bowers of Worden and Michael (Diane) DeWerff of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded by his parents and a sister Joan as an infant

Jeff was a farmer and served with the Air National Guard.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, April16, 2018 in St. Louis Catholic Church, Nokomis at 10:30 a.m. with visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday in Stiehl-Dawsom Funeral Home Nokomis, IIllnois. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Nokomis, Illinois
