Jeffrey Charles Martin, 68, of Nokomis, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Hillsboro Area Hospital.
Jeffrey was born September 9, 1955, in Pana, the son of LeRoy and Audrey (Ryan) Martin. He graduated from Witt High School with the Class of 1973. Jeffrey worked for the Kincaid Powerplant for over 30 years until his retirement.
He married Lorraine Sue Alexander on April 14, 1984, in Fillmore, and they have enjoyed nearly 40 years of marriage. Jeffrey enjoyed slow pitch softball, golf, and also hunting. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Jeffrey always tried to make light of a difficult situation, and he was a Major League Baseball History Buff. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jeffrey is survived by his spouse, Lorraine S. Martin of Nokomis; children, Jessica Martin of Nokomis, Bethany (Tyler) Stuhlman of Palmyra, MO, and Benjamin (Shellie) Martin of Taylorville; grandchildren, Brody, Waylon, Addilyn, Henry, and Braden; siblings, Edward (Carole) Martin of Witt, Suzanne (Gary) Weller of Witt, Deborah Bruce of Crystal River, FL, James (Sharon) Martin of Witt, and Jay (Becki) Martin of Witt; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation & Funeral Ceremony: The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2023, at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home, 200 E. State Street, Nokomis, IL 62075. The funeral ceremony will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Randy Sands officiating.
Burial will follow the ceremony at Glendale Cemetery in rural Fillmore.
