Janice Kay Foster

83 years young, Janice passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 surrounded by her children and grandchildren.  Janice was born in Brookville, IL, the daughter of Lana Marguerite (Stauffer) and Monte Glover.  She was the beloved wife of Robert E. Foster for 48 years, who preceded her in death, and loving mother of Deborah (Bill) Naucke, Jeffrey (Judy) Foster, Christine (Gregory) Craine, Robert “Bud” (Jessie) Foster, and Lana (Daniel) Hanson; grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother of 16.

Janice was preceded in death by brothers, Monte and Robert Glover and sister, Nadine Arnould.  She has one surviving brother, Paul Glover of Belvidere, IL and many nephews and nieces.

Everyone who knew Janice described her as caring and kind, adventurous and fun, and always devoted to her family.  Janice was generous with her time, volunteering at church and at National Parks for several years, numerous civic and social organizations, including Nokomis Women’s Club, Order of the Eastern Star, and was previously a member of the Nokomis Public Library Board, she also was involved in many mission trips.  Always an avid walker, Janice literally walked across the world in her many travels in association with the Volkswalk Organization.

She and her late husband owned and operated Western Auto Store in Nokomis for  8 years. She then worked for the Travel Agency in Taylorville, IL, and lastly as the Administrative Office Manager at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Homes.

She will be missed.

Services:

Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Friday, December 6, 2019 at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis, IL.  Funeral service 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will follow immediately after funeral at Nokomis Masonic Lodge #456, 100 North Spruce Street, Nokomis, IL.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Nokomis Public Library and/or Meals on Wheels
