Jan Michele (Charnisky) O'Malley

Jan Michele O’Malley, 70, of Nokomis passed away Friday, July 14, 2023, at her home in Nokomis, surrounded by family.

Visitation for Jan will be Monday, July 17, 2023, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and will resume Tuesday July 18, 2023, at 9:30 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Nokomis. Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jan was born on April 30, 1953, in Litchfield, Illinois the daughter of Michael and Janice Rose (McConiga) Charnisky. She was a graduate of Eastern University where she received her Bachelor of Education and was an English teacher in Nokomis School District for 29 years. She was a member of the Omicron Delta Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, on the District 22 Strategic Planning Committee, and the treasurer of the Nokomis Education Fund. She married Mike O’Malley on August 16, 2005, and he preceded her in death on January 30, 2020. She loved spending time on the water with her friends and family (aka Anchor Buddies), opening the shed for anyone who wanted to stop by, being with her parents, and attending St. Louis Cardinal games with Mike.

She is survived by her parents and daughter Ryan (Melissa) Danner.

Memorials are suggested to Nokomis Memorial Park Association.
