James Warren Wieneke

James Warren Wieneke, 72, of rural Nokomis, died 11:01 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2025, at HSHS St. John's Hospital, in Springfield, Illinois. He was affectionately known as Jim to family and friends.

Jim was born on July 14, 1952 in Decatur, Illinois. He was adopted at four months by his parents, Warren and Lillian Wieneke. He attended Rosamond Grade School and later graduated in 1970 from Pana High School. Jim married Donna Sue Steinmeyer-Law on July 25, 1981, at South Fork United Methodist Church, she survives.

 Jim was a mill worker and feed truck driver. He worked for over 46 years at Nokomis Equity Elevator, which later became Rt. 16 Grain Cooperative, in the feed mill portion. The mill later became Tri County Feed. Jim loved driving, reading, listening to and watching the St. Louis Cardinals, but most importantly, farming. His greatest joy was to be on a tractor. He was a member of South Fork United Methodist Church in rural Nokomis. Jim had numerous friends and acquaintances all over,and never knew a stranger.

 In addition to his wife, Donna, he is survived by his daughters Shelly and Shanna (Jeremy); three grandchildren Noah, Dakota (Corry), and Zion; siblings Martha, Annette, and Louis; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Lillian.

 Cremation rites will be accorded and funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at South Fork United Methodist Church at 12 p.m. No visitation and a dinner will be provided following the service. Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials can be made to South Fork United Methodist Church.
