James W. Lynn, 93, of Hillsboro, passed away on August 13, 2022 at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.
Mr. Lynn was born on September 29, 1928, in Hillsboro to Harry and Esther (Walcher) Lynn. He married Nancy Ransdell on June 23, 1956 and she survives.
Mr. Lynn graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1947 and served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Lynn was a long-time employee of Eagle-Pitcher Industries in Hillsboro. He later worked at Consolidated Coal Company's Coffeen mine and at Central Illinois Public Service Company's Coffeen Power Plant.
Mr. Lynn enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking. He was an excellent gardener and was especially proficient at growing tomatoes.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Lynn is survived by his two daughters, Penny Lynn of Hillsboro and Kathy (David) Johnson of Raymond, and two grandchildren, Justin (Catherine) Johnson of Columbus, OH and Neal Johnson of Nashville, TN.
Memorials are suggested to the Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center's Activity Fund.
