Irene Jachino

Irene A. Jachino, 95, passed away on Monday August 18, 2025 at 10:28 pm with her family by her side.

Irene was born May 30, 1930 to Mike Sr. and Elizabeth (Sipick) Kosko. She married James Jachino on February 9, 1950 in Hillsboro IL. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She found joy in cooking delicious meals as it was her expression of love, care, and desire to bring family and friends together. She was a life-long member of the St. Louis Catholic Church.

She had a signature smile that shined through no matter what hardships she was dealt. And on her last days she always smiled, letting you know things will be okay. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and delicious food.

She is survived by her children, Lynn (Roger) Battles, Gregory (Terri) Jachino, James (Phyllis) Jachino, Richard Jachino, Patrick (Alysia Reynolds) Jachino, and Tina (Vernon) Huber; grand-children, Jeff Battles, Holly Huchel, Zach Jachino, Lukas Jachino, Connor Jachino, Kelsey Jachino, Kyle Jachino, Jill Polovich, Hannah Jachino, Michael Huber, Amanda Huber, Justin Huber, Jared Jachino, and Andrea Schaefer; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandson's and .one on the way.

In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband, James, daughter Patricia Ann Jachino, a son Michael (Bono) Jachino, two brothers Mike Kosko Jr. and John Kosko, and two sisters Ann Franke and Elizabeth Bertolani, and several nieces, nephews, and special friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday August 23, 2025 from 9 am to 11 am at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am at the church with Fr. Richard Chiola officiating.

Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Nokomis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Louis Catholic School.
