Gerald Lee Schwarm

Gerald Lee "Duffy" Schwarm 89 of Litchfield, formerly of Ohlman passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 1:25 am in Heritage Manor-Litchfield. Jerry had been a resident of Heritage Manor for several years.

The son of Floyd and Elsie (Forbis) Schwarm, Jerry was born August 29, 1929 in Ohlman, Illinois.  He married Lois Ann O'Malley, May 8, 1954 in St. Louis Catholic Church, Nokomis, Illinois. She survives as do daughters Cheryl (Floyd) Storm of Irving, IL., Jan (John) Johnson of St. Louis, MO., Connie (Terry) Van Horne of Byron Center, MI., Toni (Dan) Browne of Edwardsville, IL., and son Ben (Gina) Schwarm of Springfield, IL., brother Paul W. Schwarm of Ohlman, IL.grandchildren Tyler (Amy) Johnson, Rana (Cameron) Brown, Taylor Browne, Sam (Sawyer) Schwarm, Sadie Schwarm, Luke Schwarm, Andrew, Nathan and Zachary Van Horne, great grandchildren Macklin & Rory Brown and Ryker Van Horne. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Mildred Pieper and brothers Floyd Jr. and Benjamin Schwarm.

Jerry had attended SIU Carbondale. He worked in agriculture ending his career as a grainhandler. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Nokomis, Nokomis Lions Club,  K.of C. and Waples Bauer Post 94 Nokomis American Legion. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday January 17, 2019 at 1:30 pm, in St. Louis Catholic Church, Nokomis, with visitation will be from noon to 1:30 pm. Thursday at the church.  Burial will be in Ohlman Cemetery, Ohlman, IL with full military rites conducted by the U.S. Army and Waples/Bauer Post 94 Nokomis American Legion.Memorials suggested to St. Louis Catholic School, Nokomis, Illinois
