George L. Sennezy, 86, of Galesburg, IL, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 1:30 P.M. at the St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL.
Born on September 22, 1931 in Lincoln, IL, George is the son of Alfred and Ida (Rochell) Sennezy.
George graduated from high school and was in Agriculture Chemical Sales.
Mr. Sennezy was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp., having served in Korea during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and also belonged to the Elks, American Legion, V.F.W.
George married the former Jean Ann Hoffman on March 7, 1958 in Taylorville, IL and she survives.
He is also survived by his children, Vickie Marie (Charles) Schloz of Long Mont, CO, Kay Rene (Gary) Eitel of Pueblo, CO, John David Sennezy of Galesburg & Cynthia Sennezy of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Rebecca Beyer, Rudy Schloz, John D. & Robert Eitel; great-grandchildren, Andrew Beyer & Christopher Beyer
George was preceded in death by his parents & brothers, Alfred L. & John Sennezy.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at the Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Williams will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday noon until 12:45 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ohlman Cemetery in Ohlman, IL. Military rites will be conducted at graveside by the Waples Bauer Post 94 American Legion.
