Gary Lynn Reynolds

Gary Lynn Reynolds, 78, passed away at 10:50pm on Wednesday February 19, 2025 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, IL.

Gary was born September 30, 1946 in Hillsboro IL, the son of Edgar and Grace Raynolds.  After graduating high school he joined the United States Army where he served 2 tours of duty in the Vietnam War with the 101st Airborne unit.  He married Nadine Bowers in Witt Illinois on October 10, 1969. After serving his country and returning home, he became a custodian for the Nokomis Post Office. When not working Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing and will be leaving a legacy of love for his country and family.

Gary is survived by a son, Troy (Rennie) Reynolds of Nokomis; a daughter, Alysia (Pat Jachino) Reynolds of Nokomis; grandchildren, Tara (Ryan) Armstrong, Garret Reynolds, Drake Reynolds, Riley Reynolds; four great-grandchildren, Thea, Eleanore, Loralei, and Mavis Armstong; a sister, Joyce (Jack) Wilson; and honorary family members, Michael, Meg, Gideon, Asher, and Celia Meiners.

In addition to her parents and wife, Nadine, he was preceded in death by a son, Nathan Reynolds, brothers, Issac Reynolds and James Reynolds; and a sister, Edwina Carter.

Visitation will be held Saturday February 22, 2025 from 2-4 pm at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis. Military Funeral Honors will be performed at 4 pm at the Funeral Home. 

Per his wishes, Cremation Rites will be accorded.

In lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to American Legion Waples Bauer Post 94 or to the family for funeral services.
