Everett Johnson Obituary

Everett H. "Duke" Johnson 86, of Pana, Illinois passed away Monday December 16, 2019 at Witt, Illinois.

Duke the son of Everett Harold Johnson and Margueritte L. Huber Johnson was born July 8, 1933 in Hammond, Indiana.

He married Jacquelyn Read July 3, 1954. She passed away April 6, 1982. He then married Laura Reed October 26 1987 and she passed away in 2012. He is survived by children Debbie Rhodes of Nokomis, Terri (William) Plopper of Harristown, Laura Dietsch of Champaign, Penny Johnson of LaSalle, Illinois, Harold "Duke" Johnson (Shelly Taylor) of Waxahachie, Texas, Jackie Johnson of McKinney, Texas, Connie (Troy) Moen of Cresson, Texas and Cory Johnson of Chicago, Illinois. stepchildren Dawn Simonton, and Danny Robinson, 30 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wives Jacquelyn and Laura, stepsons John & Randy Simonton.

Duke served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home, Nokomis with burial in Witt Cemetery, Witt, Illinois. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home in Nokomis. Full military rites will be provided by the Waples-Bauer Post 94, American Legion, Nokomis, Illinois.
