Elaine Marie Branham, age 73, of Witt, Illinois, passed away at her home on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 12:04 a.m.
Elaine was born on October 5, 1952, in Witt, Illinois, the daughter of Emery Harston and Rosella (Moroney) Harston. She was united in marriage to Cecil Branham in September of 1996 in Witt, Illinois. He preceded her in death on April 10, 2005.
Elaine worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in health care, where she dedicated herself to caring for others throughout her career.
She is survived by her children, Crystal Winans (companion Lee Coke) of Witt, Illinois; Melissa Vaughn (companion Paul Bartle) of Witt, Illinois; and Brian Britton (wife Sarah) of Sullivan, Illinois. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Joseph Brown, Dustin Vaughn, Dakota Winans, Zack Vaughn, Amanda Clark, and Alexis Britton, as well as one great-grandchild, Ripley Winans.
She is also survived by her siblings Charlie Harston (wife Andrea) of Witt, Illinois; Gary Harston (wife Joanne) of Moweaqua, Illinois; Herbie Harston (wife Leanne) of Nokomis, Illinois; Kelly Harston (wife Diantha) of Witt, Illinois; Linda Seifert (husband Larry) of Nokomis, Illinois; and Connie Carroll (husband Bo) of Vandalia, Illinois.
Elaine is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family, including honorary parents Bill and Gerry Harris, and honorary siblings Wayne and Debbie Harris, Bill Dean Harris, Jeffrey Harris, Melody and Pete Ceseratti, and Terry and Coleen Harris.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil Branham; and her siblings Ronnie Harston, Bill Lee Harris Jr., and Vickie Cramer.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis, Illinois. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Chad Zueck officiating. Burial will take place at Witt Cemetery in Witt, Illinois.
Following the services, a dinner will be held at the Witt Lions Club. The family requests casual attire.
