Donald Hoehn Obituary

Donald O. Hoehn, 89, passed away on January 1, 2025, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Donald was born March 3, 1935, in Nokomis, Illinois to Oscar and Maggie (Mindurp) Hoehn. He enlisted in the Army and served from {DATE} to {DATE} stationed in {PLACE}. When he returned home, he started farming and would continue farming until his retirement in 1998.

He married Elsie Voils on December 2, 1961, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis. She survives. Donald enjoyed doing many activities throughout his life and retirement including bowling, softball, and golfing, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. But nothing brought him more joy than spending time with all of his family.

In addition to his wife, Elsie, Donald is survived by his children: Melissa (Ron) Varela, CA, Lori (Bryan) Kimbro, Fillmore, Kurt Hoehn, Nokomis, and Timothy (Sherry) Hoehn, Teutopolis; grandchildren:  Tyler (Maria) Kimbro, Troy (Savannah) Kimbro, Keneisha Hoehn, Devyn (Niles) Gaskin, Alexis Hoehn, Austin Hoehn, and Peyton (Kelsie) Hoehn; and great-grandchildren: Landon and Reagan Kimbro, and Kylan Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Everette Hoehn, Lucille Barber, Clarence Hoehn, and Elizabeth Hoehn.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 9 AM to 11 AM St. Louis Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM.

Burial will follow at Calvery Cemetery in Nokomis.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Louis Catholic Church or Waples-Bauer American Legion Post 94.
