Dennis Eugene Pearse

Dennis Eugene Pearse, 78 of Nokomis, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at his daughter’s home in Springfield, Illinois.

Services for Dennis Pearse will be held Monday, August 24, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Riverton, Illinois.  Visitation will be held at Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis on Sunday, August 23, 2020 from 5 PM to 7PM. 

Dennis was born November 27, 1941 to the late Loretta (McLean) and Alfred Pearse in Nokomis.  He served our country in the United States Marines and was awarded 3 medals during his time of service.  After his discharge from the Marines he came home and worked at Firestone in Decatur.  He and Wilma Umberger were married and divorced, he married Judy Brown and they were divorced.  He and Diane Dean were married and she survives in Nokomis.

In addition to his parents Dennis was preceded in death by his daughter, Sara Jean Pearse and sister Kathy Settle.  He is survived by children Denise Russell of Springfield, Susan Pearse of Nokomis and Joshua (Laura) Pearse of Decatur; grandchildren Sydni Morgan Russell, Carlin George, Dalton Pearse, Katie Pearse, Hunter Pearse, Autumn Pearse, Kaitlyn Pearse, Madison Pearse, Kaleb Pearse and Levi Pearse; brothers Gary Pearse of Pana, Larry (Debbie) Pearse of Nokomis, sisters Sandy Pearse of Witt, Marilyn Carver of Witt, Patricia Curry of Witt, Nancy Huddleston of Nokomis and Sharon Lindstom of Oakland, Ca.
