Dean Martin Broers, 57, of Nokomis passed away Monday, August 21, 2023, with his family at his side.
Visitation for Mr. Broers will be Friday, August 25, 2023, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, rural Nokomis from 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to funeral services. Services are Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 11 AM at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Chris Prumm officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home of Nokomis is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dean was born December 13, 1965, in Hillsboro, Illinois to Ruth Ann (Wolters) and Elmer Martin Broers. He and Heather Ann Wilson were married May 23, 1998, but later divorced.
Mr. Broers graduated from Nokomis High School with the Class of 1984 and went on to work at Brinkman’s Dairy Farm in Nokomis for 2 years and Armour Dairy Farm in Carlinville for approximately 3 years. He also worked for A-lert Construction as an iron worker for over 20 years and most recently at Nokomis Quarry for the last 12 years.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He loved attending his children’s sporting events, John Deere equipment, Ford trucks and his Longhorn Cattle.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Hunter Broers and Lily Broers both of Nokomis; sister, Dana (Steve) Hellmann of Hamel, IL, brother, Dale (Theola) Broers of Nokomis; nephews Andrew (Mikayah) Hellmann, Cody (Cheyenne) Hellmann, Ryan Hellmann and Travis Broers and great nephew Westen Hellmann.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Broers on December 7, 2022 and brother, Lyle Broers in 1963.
