David J. Dirks

David J. Dirks 66 of Nokomis passed Wednesday July 11, 2018 at 5:03 am in his home surrounded by his family.

Dave the son of Harvey and Ruth Engelman Dirks was born December 5, 1951 in Hillsboro, Illinois.  He married Linda Niewinski June 20,1970 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Nokomis.  She survives as do children Michael (Jodi) Dirks and Kelli (Roger) Gregg all of Nokomis grandchildren Dylan & Cloey Dirks and Griffen & Colbi Gregg, sister Linda Waters of Sullivan and Betty Rench of Nokomis. He was preceded by his parents and sister Cinda Reatherford and brothers John and Charles Dirks.

David retired from Caterpillar of Decatur and ran Dirks Radiator in Nokomis from 1981 until the present. He spent six years from 1970 to 1976 in the 183rd Air National Guard.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday July 22 in the Nokomis Memorial Park House from 11 am till 1 pm. with a memorial service at 1 pm Sunday
