Dale John Osterholt

Dale J. Osterholt 71, of Morrisonville, Illinois passed Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 8:40 a.m. in Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Illinois.

Dale the son of John William “Jack” and Esther Alma Osterholt was born July 23, 1946 in Hillsboro, Illinois. He graduated from the Morrisonville school system and went on to be an electrician for Egizii Electric and then continued his electrical career as a self-employed electrician.  Dale farmed the family farm all his life.  He was in the US Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. He was a member of the Morrisonville American Legion and the Taylorville VFW.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Harvel, Illinois, currently serving as a trustee. He also belonged to IBEW Local 193 and the National Rifle Assn. He loved riding his Harley Davidson, golfing, traveling and spending time with his family

Dale married Marcia Ann Johnson Croenne February 20, 1988 and she survives. Also surviving are children Jodi Lynn(Brian) Lacey of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Shane Michael (Betty) Osterholt, Nathan Dale (Carla) Osterholt, Kedra Marie (Brian) Schmedeke all of Morrisonville, grandchildren Chance, Brianna, Addi, Erica, Cassie, Kirsten, Kade, Braxton, Brady, Beckem, Beyden, great grandchild Shayna,  a sister Mary (Gary) Ronchetto of Morrisonville. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Harvel, Illinois.  Burial in Morrisonville Cemetery. Visitation is from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with family time from 12:30 to 1:30 Saturday in the church.  Memorials are suggested to the Morrisonville American Legion and the Harvel Trinity Lutheran Church organ fund.
