Obituary

Craig Lynn Cassidy, 65, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, formerly of Nokomis, Illinois passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at his home in Tahlequah.

Craig was born on May 14, 1958, in Pana, Illinois to the late Lynis and Jeanette (Lankford) Cassidy.  Craig attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School and graduated from Nokomis High School with the Class of 1976.  Craig married Julie Weitekamp of Raymond and they later divorced.

Craig worked for the Coffeen Coal Mine out of high school.  He then went to work in the telecommunications industry, living and working in more than 20 states.

Craig enjoyed motorcycles, water sports, traveling, building and cooking on his cookers and being with friends and family.  Craig is survived a son, Kyle of Newburgh, Indiana; sister, Karen (Ivan) Benning of Harvel, Illinois and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 1:00 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, rural Nokomis.  Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. 

Memorials can be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
