Clifford Eller Obituary

Clifford (Cliff) Eller, 91, died on Tuesday, December 13 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital

with his wife by his side.

Mr. Eller was born in Ramsey, Illinois on September 17, 1931, the son of Rev. John and

Francis (Dilbeck) Eller. He married Georgia M. Hayes on August 1, 1968 in Nokomis. They

enjoyed 54 years together.

Mr. Eller retired as state supervisor from Henkels and McCoy, Inc. in 1993 after 30 years

of service. In retirement, he enjoyed working as a funeral service attendee and greeter at the Stiehl-Dawson funeral home for several years.

Mr. Eller was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in England from 1952 to 1954. He

was a member of the Nokomis Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rites of Springfield, Shriners, and the

American Legion.

Mr. Eller loved all sports. He enjoyed horse racing, trap shooting, and deer hunting. He

was a member of the USAC racing team of T. Pearson and a crew member of the Eller off-road

racing team. He loved fishing, was an avid golfer, and a proud member of the Nokomis Town

Pump Bowlers Hall of Fame. He most enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in all

school events, especially basketball. He never met a stranger and always had a smile for

everyone.

Mr. Eller is survived by wife Georgia, his children, Vicki (Steven) Lecocq, Randy (Kathy) Eller, Angela (Richard) Griffin, Roger (Brenda) Eller, and Lisa (Todd) Leigh, grandchildren, Scott (Kristi) Lecocq, Tanya (Gregory) Clayton, Colby Eller, Curtis Eller, Austin (Samantha) Leigh, Andrew (Mariah) Leigh, Erica (Alex) Switzer, Connor Griffin, Julia Griffin, Hope Griffin, 6 great-grandchildren, sisters, Evelyn Stevenson & Edith Petska

Preceded in death by his daughter, Julie in infancy, parents, siblings, Carl, Roy and Arthur Eller, Mildred Hicks, Madge Ray.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis, IL. Pastor Roy Eller, Jr. will officiate.  Masonic Rites will be conducted at start of service. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral Home. Burial will be in the Nokomis Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted at graveside. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children .

Per families request, covid restrictions and guidelines will be followed and masks are strongly requested by the family of Clifford.
