Clayton Owen Compton,61,of Witt passed away Monday, August 28, 2023, at 9:07 AM at Hillsboro Area Hospital

Cremation rites were accorded per Mr. Compton’s wishes and no services are planned.  Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home of Nokomis is assisting the family with arrangements.

Clayton Owen Compton was born September 7, 1961, in Hillsboro, Illinois to Walter and June (Jacobson) Compton both who preceded him in death.  He was a high school graduate and had worked for 23 years as a painter with Local 157.  Clayton and Sharon Fleming were married July 8, 1995, in Groveland, Illinois and she survives.  He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles, fishing, hunting and camping. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Christopher Compton and Casey Compton, both of Omaha, Nebraska and stepdaughter, Shelly Carver of Witt; grandchildren, Heaven Xandria Rain Worthy and Isaha Worthy both of Witt; brother, Bob (Faye) Compton of Panama; sisters, Sandy (Leo) Miller of Sorento and Gail (Mark) Schulter of Pierron, Illinois.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Tim R. Compton on December 8, 2020, and brother, Rich Compton on August 29,2014.
