Charles Robert Stokes

Charles Robert Stokes 80 of Witt, Illinois passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at his residence in Witt.  The son of Forrest and Lovie (Jackson) Stokes was born July 1, 1940 in Nokomis, Illinois. He married Carolyn Brown.  They divorced. He married Della Houchlei November 26, 1988 in the Waveland Church.  She survives as do children Charles Stokes Jr. of Hillsboro, IL., Kent (Cheri) Stokes of Springfield, IL., Rebecca Stokes of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands,.Tim (companion Angels Stokes) of Hillsboro, Jason  (Amy) Wright of Manteca, CA.Richard (Jessica) Houchlei of Valparaiso, IN., Brandon (Michelle) Houchlei of Farmington, MO. 13 grand children, 6 great grandchildren and his sister Millie Noyes of Hillsboro, He was preceded in death by his parents, children Mark, Lisa and Shelly Stokes, brothers Paul, Oral, Tom, Bill and John Stokes, sisters Rose Marie Caulk, Lula Mae Petra, Susie Griffin, Verna Davis and Mary Kamer. He was Pentecostal and a carpenter.

Public graveside services will be conducted Monday, May 10, at 11:00 am in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Ramsey.  CDC guidelines will be in place.  Please wear masks and maintain 6 feet distance.
