Charles Golitko Obituary

Charles M. “Chal” Golitko, 92, of Witt, IL, passed away Monday, July 15, 2019 at the Hillsboro Rehab and Healthcare Center in Hillsboro, IL.

He was born on November 30, 1926 in Coalton, IL, the son of Steve and Anna (Yarapko) Golitko.

Mr. Golitko graduated from high school and worked at Bridgestone Firestone .

He was a member of the Witt Lions, Sportsman Club and the American Legion.

Charles was a veteran of the United States Army having served during WWII.

He married Barbara Lowe on April 14, 1951 at St. Barbara’s Church in Witt, IL. She survives.

Along with his wife Barbara of Witt, IL, he is survived by his children, Charles A. (Sherrie) Golitko of Gillespie, IL, Susan (Phil) Keppler of Hot Springs, SD, Michael (Elizabeth) Golitko of Witt, IL; grandchildren, Charles (Jessica) Golitko, Carrie (Donald) Huber, Aaron (Andrea)Golitko, Natasha (Dalton) Downs; great-grandchildren, Dominic & Margaret Golitko, Alexa, Sarah, and Andrea Huber, Cohen, Grace, Nolan, & Bryce Golitko.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, John, Andrew, Joe, and Steve Golitko, sisters Julieann Guidish & Margaret Zawadzki.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 22, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis, IL. The Very Rev. Albert Allen, V.F. will preside. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 4-7 P.M. at the Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Witt, IL. Rosary will be at 4 P.M. Sunday. Burial will be in the St. Barbara’s Catholic Cemetery in Witt, IL.

The Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home in Witt is in charge of arrangements.
